Stewart J. Neifert
Senior Research Specialist
Stew was born in Michigan but grew up in small rural town south of Charlottesville, VA. He is a first generation college student who graduated with an honors degree in biology from Hampden-Sydney College. An undergraduate research project sparked his interest in neuroscience and biomedical research and led him to the neuroregeneration program at Hopkins. He has worked on multiple projects in the lab in many capacities and is always ready and willing to help the team achieve its goals. Outside of the lab, Stew enjoys woodworking, fly fishing, live music, and spending time with friends and family. He frequently runs for charity (half and full marathons) and prefers to end his training runs with a cold beer at Union Brewing or Brewer’s Art.
